Underwriting Assistant (Limassol)

An Underwriting Assistant is responsible to evaluate the risk and exposures of potential customers, assess the kind and degree of risk involved and determine how much premium the company should charge for a policy or if the proposed risk will be accepted or rejected. The Underwriting Assistant will also be responsible for preparing and analysing reports, identifying and making suggestions for improvement of the department’s role. As an Underwriting Assistant, you will be:

• Performing decision-making in accepting or rejecting a proposed risk
• Preparing rules based on experience for evaluating risk
• Researching and analysing, preparing and presenting reports
• Supporting Customer Service Advisors and Call Centre Advisors with queries regarding underwriting issues
• Dealing with ratemaking and pricing
• Participating in training and coaching sessions for Continuous Learning and Development

Requirements:

• University degree in Finance, Mathematics & Statistics, Risk Assessment, Actuarial
• Minimum 3 years of experience in statistics, risk assessment, underwriting, data analysis or actuarial position
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Greek
• Computer literacy (MS Office:  Word, Excel, Power Point etc.)
• SPSS, SAS or other analytical software will be considered an advantage
• Numerical skills and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to make quick decisions under pressure and to meet strict deadlines
• Active listener with critical thinking, sound judgment and attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
